Villa Pontarró is a whole house with a private pool in the countryside of Pollensa, in the north of Mallorca, 7 km and about 10 minutes by car from Puerto Pollensa. It is not in the Port: it sits next to the town, on its own land with a garden and silence, and the sea is ten minutes away. We say it up front, because they are two different kinds of holiday.
What you have ten minutes away in the Port

Why sleep ten minutes from the Port rather than in it
The Port's front line is the most expensive strip in the north of the island, and in August the busiest too. Ten minutes away, in the countryside, the same week costs less and you sleep with the windows open. Villa Pontarró sleeps ten in five bedrooms, has four bathrooms, a large garden with the pool inside it, a barbecue and parking for four cars on the property, which in the Port in summer is a real problem.
And Pollensa town, with its square, its restaurants and the Sunday market, is two minutes away by car. Cala Sant Vicenç is ten minutes; Alcúdia beach, fifteen.
Who this house is for, and who it is not for
It is for families and groups who drive to the beach, come home for lunch and spend the afternoon by the pool. If what you want is to walk down to the beach every morning, this is not your house: there are apartments in the Port that give you that, though without a garden or a pool of your own. How far is the house from Puerto Pollensa?
7 km along the Ma-2200 road, about 10 minutes by car. The house is in the countryside next to Pollensa town, not in the Port: you need a car to get to the beach. There is parking for four on the property.

Is it better to stay in Puerto Pollensa or near the town?
It depends on what you want. In the Port you walk to the beach and the promenade, and front-line prices are the highest in the area. Near the town you get quiet, a garden, your own pool and room for the cars, with the beach ten minutes away. If you want to walk to the beach, this is not your house.
