Villa Pontarró
Cycling accommodation in Mallorca
A house for ten in Pollensa, ten minutes from where Formentor and Sa Calobra begin
Every spring and every autumn the north of Mallorca fills up with cyclists, and not by chance: some of the best roads in Europe start from Port de Pollensa. Villa Pontarró is a whole house for ten in Pollensa, ten minutes from there — which happens to be the size of a group that comes over to ride for a week.
What a riding group needs
- Bikes under cover. They go on the porch at the front of the house, under a roof and out of sight from outside the property. Room for ten without stacking them.
- Parking for four cars on the property, or for the group's van.
- A pool and a large garden, better recovery after a long stage than any hotel.
- A full kitchen, to have breakfast at seven without waiting for the buffet and dinner whenever you get back.
- Four bathrooms for ten people: nobody queues after the ride.
- The town two minutes away by car, for the coffee before and the dinner after.
The routes, from the door
Cap de Formentor is close by — about 35 km there and back from the Port — and in high season car access is restricted during the day, so the road is practically left to bikes. Sa Calobra, the island's most famous climb, fits into a long ride from the house. And the Lluc loop with the Puig Major is the mountain day of the week. For a flat day, Alcúdia is fifteen minutes away.
We cover it in detail in our Mallorca cycling guide, with distances, climbing and the best time of year.
When to come
February to May is the big season, with professional teams training here. September to November has the same weather and half the people, and it is our favourite time. In both, the house is on mid-season rates: split ten ways, it works out very differently from August.
Ask us about dates
We are the owners and reply within 24 hours. Send us your dates and we will tell you availability and price, or have a look at the house first. Travelling as a family? See our family and group villa page.
